Elementary Principal Gets Duct Taped to Wall
Who knew duct tape could be used as a learning tool? A principal in Ohio challenged the students at his school to read for 40,000 minutes during Ohio Right to Read Week, with the incentive that if they reached the goal they could chose what they wanted to do to him. The students actually read 58,596 minutes and their choice was to duct tape the principal to the wall.
Principal Jim Carpenter said “You have to be able to put yourself in these situations because it’s fun for the kids. Anything that gets them excited about reading, I’ll do.”
